This will open a screen that allows you to set the details of your WordPress installation. We'll explain each item here, and please see the corresponding screenshot below.

1. Choose protocol. It is recommended that you leave this setting as is (http://), but you could also change it to “http://www.”.

2. Choose domain. Here you will see a dropdown that allows you to choose the domain on which you want to install WordPress. If you only have one domain name on your hosting account you will only have one choice here. If you have more than one domain name you will be able to select the domain name of your choice from the dropdown.

3. In directory. You can install WordPress in a directory if you like, but in most cases you will want this field to be blank. If you want your WordPress installation to show up at yoursite.com, leave this field empty. If you enter something here like “wordpress”, your installation will be at yoursite.com/wordpress/ and visitors to yoursite.com will not see the WordPress installation.

4. Database Name. When WordPress is installed it will automatically create a database on your hosting account. You can change the name of the database if you like, but it is recommended that you leave the default settings here.

5. Table Prefix. Every table in the database that is automatically created will have a prefix. You can change this if you like, but again it is recommended that you leave the default settings.

6. Site Name. Enter the name of your website, which will probably be the name of your company or organization.

7. Site Description. You can enter a tagline or brief description here if you like. It is not required.

8. Enable Multisite. WordPress includes the capability to manage multiple sites or blogs from one installation. For managing a single website you will want to leave this box unchecked. If in doubt, don't check the box.

9. Admin username. When installing WordPress you will simultaneously create a username and login (you can add more users after it has been installed). By default it will create a username “admin” but for security purposes it is better to create your own username here.

10. Admin password. Create your own password here and make it something that cannot be easily guessed. Remember the username and password that you enter as you will need to use them to login once WordPress is installed.

11. Admin email. This is the email address that will be associated with your user account. If you forget your password you will need to be able to access an email to this account in order to reset the password.

12. Select language. WordPress can be installed in several different languages.

13. Email installation details to: If you would like a copy of the installation details you can enter an email address here and it will be sent to you automatically.
