Another great theme – new, but created by the WP-Property plugin author.

Andy @ FirstFound February 1st, 2011

Have you noticed how they’re all very samey? As if there’s a standard layout for real estate sites that people don’t want to deviate from.

Vandelay Website Design February 1st, 2011

Andy,
Yes, there is a lot of similarity. I think that can help to make the sites more intuitive for users, but I do agree that there could be a little more variety. One thing to consider, I think many of the theme designers have tried to keep them fairly basic so users can customize the designs if they choose, which would help to somewhat look a little different.

Wow, most of these are a big improvement on most of the real estate websites in our area.

Lime Web Design February 3rd, 2011

Theres a couple of nice ones on here. My favourites have to be the Bel Air and the Real Estate template. Nice work.

Breeze Design Studio February 9th, 2011

The modern realtor one looks the best to me. I always try to use a template that is the most user friendly.

JR Farr February 9th, 2011

Nice round up, definitely some quality items in this list! Also, thanks for including a few themes from MOJO-Themes.

Wow, most of these are a big improvement on most of the real estate websites in our area.

As a real estate web marketer, virtual tour, and site developer….this post was right up my alley. I had the pleasure of being employed by the top producing real estate team in the US (2005) and I can tell you personally that we spent thousands of dollars every year on our sites design to reach out to our target audience.

In real estate buyers are really all about virtual tours and the web before a call is even generated so having a great site with emphasis on UI is crucial. Even after having contact with a Realtor most correspondence is done on the web by sending virtual tour links and property listings to buyers. I still consult with Realtor’s on site design and UI and I feel that there will be a huge resurgence of real estate projects when the housing marketing comes around. Great Article!

Great collection. Thanks so much

Woe, very imprssive and cool themes.

I just did a similar post, then ran across this one. We have similar tastes in design themes. The fact is, wordpress themes are great way for realtors to get a professionally designed and highly functional website at a great price.

I think the one thing that website owners often forget though, is how much work can go into configuring the website, adding content, keeping listings updated etc.

Too often clients want a $35 template, then wonder why we are charging $300+ for the website setup, configuration, etc.

As a designer and Internet marketer, I also recommend clients go the template route to build a cost effective website, then spend your money on marketing ;)

John Swanick July 8th, 2011

There is several real estate themes above that are very interesting. Are any of these themes driven by a data base file that can be auto populated by the IDX? If so is there an IDX provider that can download the listing and picture information for a fee?

Hi John,
They are not our own themes, so I can’t answer questions about them. You would have to contact the theme designers/developers.

These are some great designs, but most aren’t capable of hooking up with an IDX so you can show listings on your website. Home buyers and sellers want to visit sites with MLS listing information. So, when you are searching for a theme, make sure you can have IDX information displayed on your site.

Sally Erickson September 4th, 2011

That all important IDX link up is being address by a company I found when neither John, nor Todd, nor Vandelay did, called Diverse Solutions: http://www.diversesolutions.com. They have a WordPress plug-in! And it’d been around enough to get tested. Take a look you guys! I’m sold, anyway, and plan to use it for a new client.

Matt September 18th, 2011

Thanks for the detailed post about property themes. This is the most comprehensive list I’ve come across so far and will no doubt be a big help for me when I’m ready to develop my next site. Thanks.

Brad Dalton January 7th, 2012

I’ve used Studiopress, themeshift and Mojo Themes. Couldn’t find any premium skins for Thesis relating to real estate . Are there any you know of?

Vandelay Website Design January 7th, 2012

Hi Brad,
I’m not aware of any, but I also haven’t used Thesis in a few years so I’m not the best person to ask. You may want to check with someone at DIY themes.

Lia January 24th, 2012

I’m interested in Real Agent.theme, a theme that contains many listing with various description and is separated into many categories. It really match with my need, I must buy it.

Dawson Barber April 30th, 2012

Interested in anyone’s thoughts on this real estate brokerage website: http://landmarkrealty.ca

It wasn’t designed with a realtor WordPress theme, but, rather, with a WordPress premium theme – in this case Catalyst, using the Dynamik child theme.

Still working on some glitches before the hard launch, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Dawson Barber April 30th, 2012

Sorry, I should have added that we’re interested in feedback for two reasons:

- obviously we want to make the site better
- we’re thinking about creating a child theme for Catalyst based on this design, as we’ve had a number of people inquire about that

Thanks

Kevin May 7th, 2012

Are these themes easy to intergrate into the IDX for Multiple listing service, if I am saying that right. The MLS seems to be a bit of a mystery to me but agents can acces it for their websites. I will still do some research but any input is welcome.

Steven Snell May 7th, 2012

Kevin,
That would vary from one template to the next, so you would have to check with each seller.

Sinisa May 11th, 2012

Thank you for your list …Saved my time and help me decide..

Michael Soriano August 19th, 2012

I have just finished building my own real estate theme called realtor: http://fearlessflyer.com/themes/realtor/ . I hope that you add to this awesome collection. Realtor is FREE for a limited time!

Myanmar Property Market August 28th, 2012

Thanks Michael. I think i’m going to try out your theme :)

Domus Venari November 28th, 2012

Does any one know if any of the above themes are compatible with WP Property? Really struggling to find a theme that works with their plugin. Thanks in advance.

Steven Snell November 28th, 2012

Hi Domus,
Sorry, I’m not familiar with that plugin. You may want to contact the developer of the plugin to ask about theme compatibility.

Moses January 2nd, 2013

Hi,

I am looking at the possibility to purchase one of the themes,

Gorilla for USD 79.95. .. However, have some questions. Can I use the theme on my regional websites/ can I port copy from one site to other other.

Will it cost me one time, to use the theme for the various websites I will build for real estates.

Would appreciate a fast response.

Also, there is little explained in terms of the SEO friendliness of the themes.

Steven Snell January 3rd, 2013

Moses,
If you have questions about a theme from Gorilla you would need to direct your questions to them.

Kalifiye İnsan Kaynakları February 12th, 2013

I’m interested in Real Agent.theme, a theme that contains many listing with various description and is separated into many categories. It really match with my need, I must buy it.

Hold Realty February 14th, 2013

These are all great themes to work with, CANVAS is another theme that can be totally customized and built upon. The website for the free real estate agent HoldRealty.com realtor was created using this theme for It is important to have a quick load time as well, we have found some of the above increase the site load time. The IDX plugin as noted in the above comment integrate very well to most all themes as shown above. Woo has some great deals that are less expensive than the estate theme shown above.

khris ponty February 28th, 2013

Wiil this work for non american based agents, will I need a site builder to configure it or I can do it myself? Thanks.

Steven Snell February 28th, 2013

Khris,
You would have to contact the developer of whichever theme you want to use with specific questions about that theme.

sonny April 4th, 2013

Please forget about gorrila theme, they are one of the wosrt in the market, it never work like it promise and VERY BAD CODE (means is not compatible with most plugin).
