233 Social Networking Sites for Marketing Your Blog
Published in Social MediaA few weeks ago I wrote a post about using niche 2nd-tier social media sites to create a domino effect of traffic with larger social media sites . Since then I have received a number of requests to compile a list of social media sites. Here is a categorized list of what I have found. Feel free to leave suggestions for inclusion in the comments.

Well ” blog-thing” I think that …Digg Story Links Are more Good For SEO….See Digg story pages give a direct link to your page with anchor text you designed. Digg Story Pages Rank High In Google and since the content on these pages is almost entirely a link to your content the people who do find the page via Google or another search engine are quite likely to click through to your site. So it’s kind of like have a top ranking position only it’s not 100% clickthrough….

Thanks for a great list and for categorising the Web 2.0 sites – this is the first time I have seen this done so completely. I have been using the social bookmarketing sites to promote my blog and Squidoo lenses and it is a great source of traffic.

The only problem is each social bookmarking site has its own login which you need an account for… so sounds good, but having to login / create 50 accounts, what a drag *yawn*

I think making our own social networking site is also a good marketing, in terms of keeping our customer coming back. I’ve been using a social marketing site developed by Mega Star Media and combined it with other social networking to generate a domino effect, an the results are great. Plus, you get a constant (not spiky) traffic, so it will look more appealing to advertisers.
I recommend http://www.therealpassport.com. It is also dofollow for webmasters.

This is a nice list but there are many sites there that are no longer available such as PlugIM, Sphinn, Tip’d, etc.
Also, please consider adding IMFury – http://www.imfury.com/ – a social bookmarking site for internet marketing. I think it should replace both the Sphinn & PlugIM.
