If you’re not familiar with UPrinting, they have been a printing leader for over 25 years and they offer a very wide variety of services, including business cards, brochures, calendars, menus, posters, postcards, envelopes, and more. UPrinting also has a blog that may interest you. They publish articles relevant to graphic designers and the printing industry.
UPrinting offers convenient ordering for business cards. Their site includes a pricing calculator that allows you to choose the size, stock, color, and quantity so you can see the price before even getting started. Shipping costs can also be calculated.

I love die cuts, used to use them all the time when i was a club promoter. Now that I’m a student (web design), I’d love to have a die cut business card, it’ll force me to actually design a business card, since i’ve never had one, and designing a business card is part of the course work in one of my design classes.

I’ve been meaning to get some business cards printed since I launced my new business around 5 months ago. Last time I had some business cards printed at some random printing joint here in Australia the quality was terrible and the minimum order quantity was 2,000 which was ridiculous. I’d use these cards to hand out to potential customers opposed to saying “I’d give you my contact details .. if I could afford to.”

I love UPrinting. After hearing about them on the Chickengirl Design blog when she had a giveaway earlier this year, I tried them out. I did not win Chickengirl Design’s contest, but I tried out UPrinting, and they did not disappoint. They printed a beautiful poster of my illustration, and it won First Place Juried & Third Place People’s Choice in the poster contest at the annual New England Society Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (NESCBWI) Conference this year.

I want to enter this contest! Reason being: I decided I wanted to open my freelance business during college. I made a website (anythinggraphic.net) and recently have gone, and still going through, a really big learning curve in the field of graphic design. I recently redesigned my website under a different name—KDzyne. I’m sticking with this name now. Although I just recently redesigned, I am implimenting an new design, one with which I am going to stick with. My old business cards are going to be obsolete soon. This prize would help me out A LOT. Die-cut cards is something I’ve always wanted. Cool factor, professional, eye-catching… so many reasons!

ooh ooh pick me for the UPrinting die-cut cards. Don’t laugh but I actually tried to make them myself. It is harder than you think. Die-cuts are so great – they really stand out for trade shows, workshops, mailers and as regular business cards, but better.

I find Business Cards are the second most efficient way to promote my services. (Word of mouth being the first. Twitter and facebook coming in dead last).
I’ve been printing my own business cards on my home printer so I only get 10 at a time. I like to perfect the design often. I’m not like most of you who through business cards out to anyone who will take one (seems like the hooker card strategy used in vegas). I give a $10 per hour discount if someone mentions they received my card. This can add up to hundrends of dollars so I only give out my card to people I know I’m going to get business from.
This strategy gives me about a 50% return rate. It would be nice to have 250 more clients, I’d have to incorporate.
