Nice compilation
And thanks for the link to AdSense Referral Rotator.
Great list there. Very useful, as I’m planning on dropping Adsense from my blog very soon.
At the minute, I’m going to be using Clickbank and Amazon. I think I’ll check out a few of your other options first though.
Michael,
I’d be interested in hearing down the road how the new programs work for you. Clickbank is nice because there are so many different producst available, and I think a lot of purchasers prefer downloadable products. Obviously Amazon also has tons of products. While I was researching for this list I was impressed with several of the plugins related to Amazon, especially Last Amazon Review Plugin. Haven’t used it yet, but it looks good.
Microscopic Earthling,
Thanks for reading!
I like how you used the icons with the post, and the blog itself looks really cool!
These are some great links, and no matter who you are, you can use at least 2-3 of them. Good post.
Nice list.
Will you consider add WP Text Ads to the list?
I’m the developer of WP Text Ads, a free WordPress plugin that lets you sell text link ads directly to advertisers. This way, you pay no commissions and get paid instantly.
With WP Text Ads, you can sell text link ads for the home page, blog-wide and per-post. These options help advertisers save money.
Version 1.2 has just been released and it comes with an API.
This is very helpful. Thanks, I totally forgot about Clickbank.
nice list you have there. good job. i’ve signed for a few to give them a try
Cooliojones, Awwwpuppawww, and Hugo,
Thanks for visiting and for your positive feedback.
Alex,
WP Text Ads looks like it would be a good addition to the list. I’ll add it sometime in the next few days (probably will be making a few other additions as well). Thanks for the resource.
I don’t know about others but Adster doesn’t pay at all. They haven’t paid 5 checks (was I fool to wait that long?). Now I have stopped using them.
They don’t reply my emails too.
xnapali,
Thanks for your feedback on that program.
This is an awesome list! I’m trying to help a friend of mine sell some stuff, so I needed the info on affiliate programs. Thanks!
I think it is very dangerous to monetize a Website or Blogsite with the links sale, because it is against the Google´s regulation. The site that sell links can be punished.
Jackson,
It’s definitely a risk, but there are plenty of websites currently doing it that have not been punished by Google. Of course, that doesn’t mean it will never happen. Fortunately there are other ways to make money with your website.
Sweet list, I will have to add this to a post I have on monetization…Great job Cathy. Do you use all 101 on the Vandelay blog?
Antonius,
No, I think I only use 2 of these right now. I’d like to keep the blog ad-free until it has a larger audience. Even then, I don’t plan on using a lot of ads since this site is primarily intended to promote my website design services.
Nice list there.
By the way, TLA has just updated their referral links. So it might be a good idea to update yours.
Sly from Slyvisions.com
Yeah, thanks for the reminder to change the TLA link. Fortunately, I think that’s the only one on the site that needs to be changed.
wow what a great list.. thx a lot for this.. i didn’z know even half of those
Thanks for reading! I’m glad you found some new stuff here.
Very nice list. Thanks.
A very useful post. Mashable also published a similar post.
Thanks for this wonderful info.
Learning any and all ways to make money online is great. I can always drop something that doesn’t work as well but if I didn’t know all the ways I would surely be missing out on multiple streams of income.
Thanks for the great information.
Oh, many interesting links. Havn’t seen the AdSense Deluxe plugin before. Thank you!
Very Helpful. Thanks for posting the list!
Making Money is a difficult thing. Finding ways of making money is more a difficult one. I really appreciate for the pain you took for finding the ways. It was a like a 12 bunch of books for reading. All the books will take some time for me to read. Thank you!
WP Plugins section is a plus for me. I currently use Nucleus, but I’m in the process of designing a WP platform for unTECHy.com
Nice compilation of info. 5 *’s

List of free icons
Thank you for the helpful list. Bookmarked!
Just discovered a complete list of all marked down products at Amazon, sorted by category
and % off, ranging from 50% off to 90% off (thanks Sonja for the effort).
Actually I never thought Amazon would have articles with 90% off, but only in the category
Electronics there are more than 3000 of them – look for yourself, the list is on
Bargain Hunter (which is a blog of a woman who specializes in finding good deals at
Amazon, like Britain’s “Jeanie”).
wow tons of great stuff in this article, bookmarked!
Thanks for this effort but I like to know, how many of these ways can be used together without violating anay rule on google or any other advertising site, Great site you have here
Great effort here, and thanks, but Please I like to ask , how many of these ways can be used together on site without violating any rule from google or any other advertising site
I suprised for real….tones of great stuff here, need time for thinking…
Some of these site doesn’t support my country. thanks for this great post.
Click here for a relevant blog
Great post, very useful!
I use AdBrite. They work well. You’ll want to be careful with AdSense if you use StumbleUpon. AdSense has a nasty habit of closing accounts that get too much StubmleUpon traffic.
teşekkürler
WOW ! This is huge list . Great Work
thanks for the nice and great links
Excellent List.. I had not even think for this.. thanks
What a great list. Thanks for the advice.
Great list !!

Woah.. thanks for all that info =D
That is the best list if ever found on this topic, great work!
This is a great resource – bookmarked it, thx
I’m bookmarked this article too
Thanks 4 the links
Good selection on earnings! At present I use service Adsense Google, but I shall try also other methods described at you. Certainly contextual advertising and partner programs can bring the good income, there would be an attendance greater. Thanks for references!
Oh, I really like the links you provide here..very useful and open up new possibilities for me..Thanks..
This is an awesome list! I’m trying to help a friend of mine sell some stuff, so I needed the info on affiliate programs. Thanks!
Nice list
Thank you
Joard is no longer available (as of January 2008)
Thats a very fine list. It goes right in my bookmarks. Thx.
Great list, im also bookmarking this for future reference especially in regards to the wordpress plugins
Wow, I didn’t think there were 101 ways. But you did a lot of homework. I would like to add Revver to the list. It is a video player. It is great if you ever want to put video on your site.

Fantastic post, I’ve bookmarked it so I can take a closer look.
Nice lists….thanks
wow this is the longest list of making money online opportunities guess i’ll be having plenty of time to surf each one
You can integrate your page or website with nosle to make the contents of your web page payable before view. Make sure you put the javascript as the first line of after the body tag. If you are using blogspot you can add a javascript element and add it below the title at the very top.
Very Informative. Which is top 5 as per you?
I have tried Kontera, but it seems that many people don’t like it because of the mouse over popup is distracting to the reader. Didn’t many any money from it, either.
Great info .. my webshop rocks
Chitika works great! In fact, over the last year I compiled some statistics of my earnings and I actually earned twice as much with Chitika compared to AdSense. For those of you curious about Chitika, check out this Chitika review for more info and some screenshots.
Great listing. But, give affili’s a chanche
Good list. I never knew about paid reviews.
Thanks for this list!
My name is Antje and I work for Germany`s largest online video advertising network – Captain Ad.
I found this list of advertising networks and would like to ask, if you could list Captain Ad as well?
Captain Ad places advertisements before embedded videos of any popular video sharing websites like YouTube, megavideo and so on.
Captain Ad is paying for this ad format to webmasters a CPM of 1.00 USD.
The integration is very easy as well.
You can see Captain Ad in action at: http://www.captainad.com/preview/overlay .
Regards,
Antje
I’ve signed up for both Amazon and eBay affiliate programs, as well as a couple more smaller businesses that sold specialty products. I didn’t know about 98% of the ones on this list. Great and useful compilation. Thanks!
Great list here. I use several of these affiliate programs now. Going to look into some you have here. The problem I’m starting to have is keeping track of all my accounts now. LOL!
Great List!
I noticed that there are no directories listed. Similar to the Job Boards we provide free directory technology through a partner program and you get to keep 75% of the revenue!
You can visit us at http://www.hellonets.com
I’m bookmarking your list! I always refer to your blog. Well-written.
This is a really nice guide.
What a great list. I already use some of the affiliate programs. Very helpful guide.
very very useful list. Big thanks!
Great ways to monetize any website. I am currently using adsense but I have noticed that sometimes the ad value is very low, even when I removed the majority of low paying ads. That makes me think about other possibilities of monetising.
Thank you for this great list!
Hi, I cant understand how to add your site in my rss reader. Can you Help me, please
Hi Gloria,
The feed URL is http://feeds2.feedburner.com/vandelay/. Just add that to your feed reader.
I wonder if there is some program we can use on wordpress.com to monetize the blog
Thank you for such a large and a complete list, but my main income comes from a blog with contextual advertising, as Google AdSense. But you can try other ways of earning, which are described in your article.
These are awesome. I have been looking to get into affiliate marketing and earn some passive income and this list is just what I needed.
5 stars!!
I think even low traffic sites can still monetize if some thought is put into how they wish to monetize.
As mentioned from the posts here, methods using direct sales, affiliate sales, PPC, CPM, microtransactions, donations, etc……there is always something out there that will fit neatly with your website and its target audience.
Also, use of such monetization methods are important in my view. For instance, if you have PPC ads on the top and bottom of your site, you may get a few clicks as people pass over them….but this situation could be improved if…..(a bit of shameless promotion now)….you used an API like that found at tag-box.com.
The idea is that you would generate a focal point for your users to pool to. Couple that with your PPC code in the API header and you could start paying back the cost of your website in no time!
I think this method works for all forms of monetization, and if employed, would help a lot of webmasters and bloggers see better returns for their efforts.
I want to say thank you for this amazing list! You made a lot of search to put them together?
Thx for this great list. Very, very usefull. Nice to know!
Thanks a lot for this great list! I’m really interested in PPC advertising. Regards!
Arh Sweet list. Bookmarked and shared!
And tweeted
Very good list. I’ve been meaning to find a way to sell ad space on my site.
Great list. I currently use Adsense and some Affiliates to monetize on my blog. It hasn’t been successful though ):
Some of the links don’t work anymore. But you do have some good things here that do work.
Nice list, but some of the links doesn’t work!
Gutschein,
The post is almost 2 years old so some of the links are no longer active.
I think some of the links don’t work. An update would be great.
i heard text-link-ads are not good for your PR…google will drop down your rank
is it true?
Pelfusion,
Yes, that’s true. The post is almost 2 years old and was published around the time when Google started to crack down on that. I would stay away from buying text links, but they can still be done effectively, but you have to be careful (I don’t have personal experience buying links, so I don’t have much insight to offer on the subject).
anybody expirience with “publisher.yahoo.com” ?
is this only in beta availiable ?
is chitika currently online? i can not reach this website…
adspilot dot com offers 80% for publishers. as far as i know, they provide CPC, CPM and CPA pricing models.
Hey thanks the info. I knew about some of these but not all of them.
Nice list and right of you. Have bookmark this site
What a great list. Thanks
Phew, that was an awesome compilation.
I do not think that you can find such a huge list of monetizing options anywhere on the internet.
Great ideas! I noticed you didn’t include email marketing, though. Here is a great post about how to boost your readership by converting your RSS to email. (In turn, making you money.)
http://www.aweber.com/blog-newsletters.htm
For 20 bucks a month it’s totally worth it!!
Great list! A 2009 update or alternative article would be great. I have bookmarked the site and is looking forward to see new suggestions on how to make money on your well trafficed website.
Nice compilation of ways to monetize your website, thanks for it.
great list… thank you very much
A very nice list and I think the Google Adsense Partnership is the best one!
I sell a lot of links with inlinks.com – but i dont find this service in your list… is Inlinks.com bad?
Artikel,
I don’t really know anything about inlinks. This post is almost two years old, so it is not up-to-date. I don’t think inlinks existed at that time (although maybe it did and I just didn’t come across it).
Great List, are link ads the way forward these days, im sure many of the search engines will put a stop to the blatent spam these sites offer..
Anyway while we still can im sure we will
Even though this post is 2 years old, it’s amazingly still pretty accurate and relevant. I found a few sites on here I had not yet heard about so let me express a well belated thanks for the post.
Great List should come in handy
Making your website business model based on ads is very difficult goal to achieve. You gonna need at least 1 million unique users a month in order to earn around 15-20K $
1 million! there are only few websites in the world that attract that much of traffic.
There are different ways to monetize your website, i developed a truly unique system that monetizes content discussions – http://itok.in
The website offers only a limited version to get the first impressions, but websites that really wants to upgrade their performance can contact me through my email.
Nice List, thank you very much. I think google adsense is the best ^^.
Very useful list! Thank you!
Thank you very much for the list. Some of the link are very interesting for my projects.
Great list, they say a great list for bloggers but is a no follow now which should slow the posts down on this now
Great job done on this very useful list. I bookmarked it.
I really got good numbers now on text link, banner ads options and wordpress plugins.
Just a suggestion.
I understand that it took a lot of hard work in putting up this great list for viewers. But it would be even better if you can put a rate for the popular urls from each type where all your commenter can rate.
Thanks again..
Great resource, thank you very much
Wow, a great list! I missed Zanox and Affilinet in the affiliate section
Awesome compilation man. How long did it take you? Congrats!
Pelle,
I don’t really remember how long it took because it was so long ago, but I know it did take some serious research.
Great post, only used a couple so plan on testing some more out in the coming weeks.
Again thanks, must have taken ages to compile.
Thanks for the post might haf take a long to research on those but looks handy
Thanks Again
This post is 2 1/2 years old and still relevant. Really great work. Congratulations
Great list. I’ve been looking for an alternative to adsense for a while. Looks like I’ve got plenty to choose from, thanks.
How about infolinks in text link advertising, i am earning good with that.
Usually, for the monetization of their projects, I use Google AdSense, and any other contextual advertising, but after reading this article, I will probably use something else. Thank you!
Thank you for this excellent list. A lot of people work so hard on their websites and blogs by providing value to their readers and wonder how to make a little bit of money for there time and effort. This is a great list of ways to monetize. Thanks a bunch for sharing these.
I have tested everything from Google Ads to Layer Ads. I ended up with affiliate marketing and I stick to it for now more than 2 years. It is the most effective way.
Very useful list, thanks for this, but some links are broken.
Gutscheine,
Yeah, the post is really old so many of the links are not up-to-date.
Hi
One other alternative is when a brand wants to get more exposure (and Links) though blogs.
we have just signed http://www.verticalblogger.com and works quite different from others.
We get offers sent via email, write an article and then we get paid at the end of the month.
Hope it helps and thank you very much for all the tips in this post.

Thank you for this excellent list. A lot of people work so hard on their websites and blogs by providing value to their readers and wonder how to make a little bit of money for there time and effort. This is a great list of ways to monetize. http://www.msnforum.tk Thanks a bunch for sharing these.
Thanks for sharing this list. There are so many ways to monetize. This gives good advises. BR
Incredible list. I’m sure it took some time to put it together. I will definitely return to try some of the links.
Nice compilation
And thanks for the link to AdSense Referral Rotator.
Great List, thanks. Text link ads are definately the way the go at the moment. It is always important to explore other methods though.
Thanks for sharing this list. There are so many ways to monetize. This gives good advises. BR
Have you heard of zim.ma. It’s a great tool for monetising external links from a website.
Zim.ma adds a useful bar to external links from a website, blog or printed publication. So instead of loosing the visitors that click away it can bring them back again.
External links will feature:
- your logo, linking back to your website
- your adverts (optional), to generate revenue
- share links, to make your links viral
It’s easy to integrate too with a WordPress plugin and drop-in javascript.
To see the service on-line please go to zim.ma
Thanks for this great and useful list…! Some links are not working anymore
Affiliate marketing is really the best way to monetize your site if you have good traffic for special topics. If you have generel interest user, google adsense might be better…
Great list!
Gonna implement some of these seeing as Google have suspended my Adsense account!!!
Great… But none of them will work if you don’t have any good amount of traffic. And i mean traffic around 50 thousand unique visitors per month at least. That too, majority of traffic from US or Canada.
This is a helpful list of advertising networks that you have created here. It can be so hard to keep up with all tha is going on in the world of online advertising, blogging and publishing.
Oh and by the way yahoo has canceled their program and has refered all publishers to chikita.com
I have tried quite a few my self and find adsense is overwhelmingly the best. Though they dont have a “kontera” like equilavent. The do have a much better display and cpm thing going now but it could be better. AdBrite is good for display asthey have a lot of inventory and other options as well such as full page ads.
Chikita has a really cool thing going on with their premium search ads.
any how i appreciate all the work you put in to dig up all these resources thanks.
- Finance Guy
This is a really impressive list and it’s still “up to date” after 3 years!
My favourite ones are adsense, affiliate marketing and adspace selling.
The earnings depends on the niche and the traffic, put with the right mix and the right partners, everybody can make a huge income from his own site and/or blog.
These are wonderful opportunities to monetize your website! Some of these programs I registered and I await the results, others are not profitable for me. But the internet is full of great opportunities. Let me share with this site.
Thats awesome post and comments still coming since last 3+ years. Great work guys
I wish to add a wordpress plugin to monetize wordpress content that is yourcred, site http://yourcred.com. Hope it will help in adding a little value to this great post
clicksor is scam. deleted it.
well what a nice list.. 10x for this.. i didn’z know even half of those
“clicksor is scam. deleted it.” ….. I must agree …. clicksor su….
There is a widget http://www.widgetbox.com/widget/make-money-via-social-deal-map which display Groupon and other social deals on a local map (GEO IP location detected so that the map is always centered at the reader’s location). You can configure it with your own affiliation id and start to make money from it. These deals are usually quite attractive with huge discount and they are local. Blogger /website owner should be able to generate good revenue from it.
These are wonderful opportunities to monetize your website! Thanks a lot for this great list! I’m really interested in PPC advertising. Regards!
Great list! – I did not know that there was this many opportunities to monetize a website! Thansk
WoW! Really Great and Huge List you Have created here, I was not knowing about the Job Board Idea. Thank You for Letting me Know
Would be good if you could add http://www.cxdigitalmedia.com under Affiliate Programs. We certainly have competitive offers and have been around for 7 years so we’re quite established. Thanks.
Really nice list of monetizing options….
I have bookmarked this page for later reference, and I will also now go and check out this site further…
There are so many choices out there for monetizing websites, including many new products and systems, that it can become a little confusing when wishing to make a choice…
Regarding an earlier comment that it is against Google’s Terms of Use to monetize a Website or Blogsite with links sale:
You replied that, “It’s definitely a risk, but there are plenty of websites currently doing it that have not been punished by Google. Of course, that doesn’t mean it will never happen. Fortunately there are other ways to make money with your website.”
It’s kind of sad that you find it so easy (and encourage others) to compromise on ethics/morals just because “everyone else is doing it.” Aside from the risk to your business, this is just another example of how some people find it so easy to sink to the level of the “lowest common denominators” of society.
pretty sad….
Besty,
I think you are totally misinterpreting what I’m saying. It’s a fact that many people are buying and selling links. We have never bought or sold links, although we are approached every day about selling links. I don’t think there is anything wrong with acknowledging that a lot of people are buying and selling links. I’m not in any way advising it (as I mentioned it is a risk), just observing that it happens. What I meant by “Of course, that doesn’t mean it will never happen” is that just because sites and companies haven’t yet been caught and punished by Google doesn’t mean that they never will. That is acknowledging the risk. And by “Fortunately there are other ways to make money with your website” I am saying that you don’t have to sell links in order to make money online. You can do any number of different things that won’t put you at risk. So I am not at all encouraging anyone to compromise ethics or morals. In fact, I would advise people not to buy or sell links, especially since we have never bought or sold links. Lastly, if someone does decide to buy or sell links it’s not a case of being immoral or unethical. Yes, it is against Google’s policies and it puts you at risk, but it’s not illegal or immoral. Google just condemns it because it impacts their search results.
You’re also reacting to a comment that is over 5 years old. In the world of Google and search algorithms that is a lifetime. And just like I mentioned there being a risk in that comment, during the past 5 years Google has punished a lot of sites. That just proves my point about the risk.
I found a wonderful list here. Thank you for sharing. I have recently applied for Google Adsense on my blog. Waiting for their approval or rejection! What would be the best alternate to Google Adsense?
Hi Mak,
I’ve look at, and tried, a few AdSense alternatives and I haven’t yet found anything that is worthy or recommending. There may be something out there, but from my experience if I wasn’t able to use AdSense I would probably look for some good affiliate programs to promote.
I tried The Newsroom, it looks pretty outdated. This is a great resource list yuo have here, I’d love to see it updated.
Thanks
Cathy
