    I appreciate the mention Steven.

    BTW how did the upgrade go? Any quirks or any plugin compatibility issues?

  • 6 Jon - FreelanceFolder Oct 13, 2007 at 3:13 am

    Thanks a bunch for the linkage and mention Steven :) By the way, I’m wondering the same thing as Mohsin, how did the upgrade go?

  • 7 Karthik Oct 13, 2007 at 4:35 am

    @Mohsin and Jon

    I did an upgrade just last week and am still having trouble with a few plugins to be honest - Who Sees Ads and the WP Contact Form are a no-go together.

    If I enable Who Sees Ads, my Advanced Editor refuses to work, but the plugin author, Ozh is very accomodative and he had a work-around done, but I ran into yet another snag with the same plugin and have told him about it - the plugin is great though and well worth all the hassle!

    @Steven
    You’re welcome, I’m glad you did - better safe than sorry, Kyle was hacked the other day too!
    btw, did you happen to find out about the other issue I mentioned earlier?

    Jon and Mohsin,
    The upgrade went very smooth. It took about 10 minutes to do using the instructions from WordPress.org and get the basics done. I haven’t re-installed all of the plugins yet, but I did activate Akismet, DoFollow, Show Top Commentators, PosPost, and Related Posts. Haven’t seemed to have any trouble with those. That only leaves 1 or 2 other plugins that I use. I was pretty concerned about screwing things up, but fortunately that didn’t happen (unless I just haven’t noticed yet).

    WarriorBlog,
    Thanks for the compliments.

    Karthik,
    I forget what the other is was now. I searched for your email, but I can’t find it. You can either leave a comment or send me an email if you want.

    Hey, you’ve upgraded too! I read that Sarah(Bluejar) upgraded too.

    Wondering if I should upgrade my WP soon. I’ve got tons of plugins to deactivate if this is os.

  • 10 Vandelay Design Oct 13, 2007 at 9:10 am

    Felix,
    Yes the upgrade made me appreciate the fact that I don’t use a huge amount of plugins.

  • 11 Karthik Oct 13, 2007 at 12:27 pm

    @Steven
    Never mind, it was nothing important.

  • 12 Tibi Puiu Oct 13, 2007 at 12:28 pm

    Great links, you should do a post about how your upgrade went through (maybe a tutorial?) and your thoughts on WP 2.3. Some people would find it useful, i know i would :D

  • 13 Vandelay Design Oct 13, 2007 at 2:30 pm

    Tibi,
    The instructions on WordPress’s website really are all you’ll need to upgrade. I don’t know much about the process other then what I read. My advice is to do it at a time when you don’t expect to have much traffic. I did it mid night on Friday in case anything went wrong.

    This is my first time to your site. Is this all the good posts you read this week? If you do this everyweek I plan on coming back to look at them as there appears to be some very good article in there.
