Design Inspiration: Yellow Websites

Published in Galleries

Continuing our recent series of posts on color inspiration for web designers, today we look at yellow websites. Yellow may not be the first color that comes to mind for a website background or for a primary role in your color scheme, but as the sites featured here will show, it can help to produce interesting and vibrant websites. You will notice in this showcase that many of the sites are using black or dark gray with yellow.

Hopefully this collection will give you some ideas about using yellow in your own work.

Yellow is one of them colours that works fantastic against black as most of these examples show. The vibrancy and vivid nature of yellow makes it a great colour choice for making an immediate impact and grabbing the viewers attention. It’s amazing how much can be achieved by just two colours such as the in the ‘They Creative ‘ and QUIBIQ sites. I love the subtle background imagery on the Daniel Martin site as well. Once again a great source of inspiration for future projects.

I’m pleasantly surprised by Denny’s website. I love how obvious is that the top items are downloads. You don’t see that very often and it’s nice to know whats going to happen next after you click. Clever horizontal slide as well.

Thanks for the round-up.

That’s a whole lot of yellow! Sure screams for your attention, yet not aggressive, but inviting.
