The website design like a magazine cover is a nice idea.It looks different and interesting.

VOGUE is my favorite

“Eagle Rock Entertainment” and “Black Harbor” are both pretty striking designs, prefer them over the others.

There are a few websites that you can call well designed in the list above (Travelbuzz, Techi and maybe W Magazine) The rest of them have to rethink in my meaning, the lack off structure is enormous.

Agree with Johan. Nearly all of the 3-column designs are far too busy for my tastes. It would interesting to do some split testing with cleaner designs, and compare the click rates of the cleaner vs busier designs. Maybe busier is better? But I would guess not.
