This list definitely needs more of Design Sensory’s websites!

@Hugo,

but… it’s french.

Travel websites definitely get a good head start in design. Imagery can make a website and some of these if you took the images out, they would look quite plain. Then again too much detail when the image is the focus can lead to too much going on. I really like Stien Eriksen Lodge, Reluctant Panther Inn, Lake District Inns, UniResort, Casa Laura, and loads more!

Hi folks,

Its great how they have really given an insight to the topic with the use of images, I especially liked Naturetrek the picture of the tiger was the selling point, which im sure it would be to their visitor, they are lovely animals.

Thanks :)

These are great, certainly good at selling the places in question! I wouldn’t mind travelling to a lot of these places to see the beauty for myself. Nice collection, thanks.

Excellent Theme, there should be more dealing with this topic!
Im a professional photographer from Los Angeles, Living ans orking in Germany and due to my jobs in fashion and advertising, travel quite alot to locations to work where most people go to vacation, so I can really identify on a business and private level…. just call me lucky ;-)
I really agree with the choices Amelia Johnson made above, seems as though we both have the same taste in style and layout… some of the other websites here might be advertising a great location, but due to the hectic and text stripes over the photos I get the feeling of less peace and luxury and more mass tourism. Its probably not fair to the location or hotel, but first impressions are what usually colours your decisions of like or dislike as the place you want to visit in your few weeks in the year.
On more than one of my tripsback to the Southwest Ive stayed at what now my favorite “home away from home”, the Inn on the Alameda in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I was impressed with their website and it made me curious to experience the atmosphere and style that they transported in their website, peaceful, luxurious in a southwest style that combines the old west feeling with all the modern conveniences that are necessary for my jobs and for vacationers with the desire to take a break from the hussle and bussle of daily stress and simply lay back and enjoy… thats what I got from the website, and was certainly not disappointed when I experienced the Inn on my trip. From the ambience, the personnel and the excellent cuisine… The combination from website as teaser to the real life experience, a perfect one-to-one fit… now thats advertising. have a look and I am curious of your comments… good travels, Will

Hi, for a slightly different take, try http://www.cultimo.ch/ – in German, but I guess the language of the copy is not really what’s most important here : )
