In some cases, the entire background (or a large percentage) of a website will consist of a large photo. In these situations the other design elements wind up complementing the photo, instead of the other way around.
In this post we’ll showcase 25 websites that make use of very large background photos. There are a variety of different types of websites included, and all different kinds of photos that are being used. Hopefully this variety will help to provide some inspiration for your own work by showing some of the possibilities.

I know this might not be the most popular thing to say, but i’m suprised bing.com didn’t show up on this. Probably the most popular site with a background image theme.

Hi John,
Bing is definitely one possible site to include. A few things I would like to point out:
1 – Part of the reason Bing wasn’t included is because 99% of people reading this post would already be familiar with it.
2 – There are literally thousands of possible sites to include. My goal with this collection was to compile sites that I thought would serve well for inspiration. It’s not intended to be a list of the most prominent sites with large backgrounds. Since most people are already familiar with Bing it didn’t seem important to include it in this showcase. I’d rather showcase some other sites that readers may not have seen before.
I always love a site with large Photos. I think it is one of my favorite new trends.

All of them are awesome. It took the entire monitor’s display. I’m pretty sure whoever develop it is very good at what they doing.
