Restaurant Websites: Inspiration and Options

Love this page, I was doing some research on restaurant design and this cropped up, fantastic, I love Le 28 thiers, that has to be my favourite.

Could you do one for weddings venues, that would be a fantastic area to cover as I can’t find a really nice looking site on this subject?

Personally, while there are some nice sites, some aren’t so nice. Here’s a hint for all the budding website designers out there, if you use JavaScript for links (or if you require JavaScript at all on a basic site), you are doing it wrong. That goes double for flash. Interactivity is all well and good, but your visitors should be able to view the basic information without it. (Basic restaurant information includes menu, location and opening hours.)

Of the sites I looked at (maybe half?) I like the Farinella Bakery site the most. Nice design, locations up front, opening hours obvious (if you scroll down), and well presented menu. Nice.

A delicious selection of restaurant websites. There are some really strong designs here that reflect the theme and personality of the restaurants very effectively. It’s interesting to see how a lot of them share the same characteristics with each other (such as having an attractive picture of what they serve as the main focus accompanied by a large title and heading with three or four points of interest underneath) but at the same time they remain unique amongst themselves. I think the key to a successful restaurant site is to reflect the personality of the restaurant while at the same time making it as user friendly as possible. Some great examples of effective web design.

These are really awesome collections! We built a Malaysian nasi lemak restaurant once, and we used customer’s facial expressions as the theme of the design! Interesting subject to play with creativeness

Mmm, some lovely looking restaurant website designs there, my stomach’s rumbling now! With restaurant sites it’s all about the photos, big pictures, elegant design, close-up food all works wonders to entice visitors.

This is a good list. i had to research this recently for a client. i which i’d seen this.

I should say this is a kind work or help done inorder to avoid confusions …i hve got so many options ….out of which i guess mac D is one of the most common known to all …..

I notice all those enlisted blogs have the eclecticism look. Also they all have the pictures which I think are their best’s.
