As you will see in the 25 sites showcased in this post, purple is a primary color in a lot of beautiful websites. Verry nice collection. I think purple is a quite underestimated color in webdesign. In combination with darker areas and a good grid it can be a wonderful color. I think designers need to be careful not to overdo with to many purple tints but if the measure fits it can be really good, as seen in the nice collection above. My favourites are sw graphic and newism

I have to say these all look very similar to me. With the exception of Rainbeau Mars and Woman to Woman. Lots of galaxy/gradients.

Purple is my favorite color. Really so amazing . Nice combinations of other colors with purple.
The people who say that these all look alike are only really paying attention to the color palette, which is admittedly very similar across all of these selections. But that’s entirely the point, the actual layout and use of space is very different amongst all of these sites.
They all make purple look good. I like the central image of Shout Digital design but the Sheena Oosten not only looks great but offers clear and simple navigation and has a balance to the overall layout.

I feel like purple is very under utilized. Just designed a site with a lot of purple. Too bad the client picked the other design comp. LOL
looks great though I am not fan with purple.

Purple colour schemes don’t seem to be as popular as other colours in the web design world but as these designs show it can be very effective and can grab a users attention straight away. There’s quite a few examples of dark purples and vivid purples here that do grab your attention, however I think the more subtle, muted purples such as on the Rainbeau Mars site are particularly effective and helps bring the design together nicely. Again a great addition to the colour inspiration series.
I really like purple, specially when I see websites.
