I have just created a very minimal but dynamic portfolio site with jquery & css – i’d love a review to see if I could make the list.

http://jasondaydesign

Thanks (not trying to spam, but I created a fairly unique approach to the single page portfolio)

I must say, I prefer the ones that don’t have a photograph on. It seems to ruin the overall aesthetic of a minimalist site.

Izzat Aziz January 10th, 2011

@Andy

I disagree with you, with proper usage of image/photograph it could make the minimalist site look much better.

We don’t like just text site anyway right?

Tery January 10th, 2011

Very nice and user friendly designs.

web design hull January 10th, 2011

Nice collection as usual… Difficult to pick a favourite, I think I’d have to choose Fell Swoop or Flek. Thanks for sharing.

Timothy Long January 10th, 2011

I always look forward to a new addition of this series. Great selection!

aledesign.it January 10th, 2011

A nice selection…but…even so simple..is a perfect design. Great works

Mike January 10th, 2011

Great list. I get tired of sites that take forever to load.

Flavio Mester January 10th, 2011

Very nice. I especially liked the dramatic contrast in Fell Swoop. I’ll pass it on to our own designer clients, I think they’ll be inspired. Great picks!

Another fantastic set from a necessary ongoing series. Designing with a minimalist mindset really focuses you on the details within a layout and gives the content true importance. I’ve recently chosen a minimal redesign of my own site and think that decision paid off.

Most of these are simple yet very impressionable sites. I like the use of the image slider in octave’s design.

El January 11th, 2011

Nice works.
Thanks for the collection

Minimal is the way to go. I wonder if we can show some links to wordpress themes that are in the style.

Mervi Eskelinen January 13th, 2011

Very nice and inspiring showcase. Thank you!

Paul Armes January 14th, 2011

I love the minimal, I agree with TWallace it would be great if there are links to other sites or buyable ones!

rburch January 15th, 2011

I always love these posts. Thanks again. Inventory is my favorite out of this batch. I love the single big image.

Fumatorul January 17th, 2011

Difficult to pick a favourite, nice selection…

I like the ‘less is more’ approach to design.

Although I admire most these examples none of them are very memorable.

The use of a strong concept with minimal design (think Pentagram, or The Partners, UK) works well as you get the elegance of simplicity while delivering a concept to leave a lasting impression.

Quixotic January 19th, 2011

Some of these blew my mind, it really goes to show in web design, less is more.

Thanks for this from here in the West Midlands.

Coswyn January 20th, 2011

Gotta love the designs created with the purpose in mind of directing focus to the substance of the site.

Robert Miranda January 21st, 2011

@Quixotic – Couldn’t agree more.

It can be such a burden to bring such simple and beautiful design into the web and maintain user ability and functionality.

Great inspiration.

tim January 24th, 2011

i love simple things ~thanks

hp January 28th, 2011

Love minimal sites, although it’s true that it’s harder to avoid cliches if you have less tools to work with. :)

Komal June 14th, 2011

Good collection of inspiring sites.

Vipin June 21st, 2011

Will be very happy if listed in next part of minimalist websites :)
Great list though..

Thanks
