I think that it is great and they are very nice. I hope that it will do well. The only way you are going to see what it does it to put it out there. The next thing you have to do is watch it closely and then do some tweeking. I can not wait to read about how well it has done.
ROFL
This article came at excact the same moment as when I had the idea to create a flash-like website with HTML + CSS + JS only.
Some of these sites are amazing. Although a lot of flash portfolios have that “wow” factor, designers will need a fall back site. Especially if Apple continue their trend of not supporting flash.
Great collection. I really like the Skive site effects.

Cheers & Ciao ..
Amazing, great selection of flash portfolio sites.
Thanks…
Bookmarked for my inspiration folder.
Some of them are quite creative!
I just wish designers thought a little more of accessibility. Half or more of these website could be made with html and css + javascript only, with same results – faster load times, easier navigation, less processor overload (check it on netbook) and without discriminating Apple users (Adobe vs Apple thing).
Example:

It really doesn’t use anything that Flash offers uniquely. jQuery ScrollTo achieves very same thing as their menu:

I always appreciate great Flash creations, like this one (and dozens of more around the web):

But using Flash just for Flash is not the wisest option. So think twice before you decide for it.
Flash is good when it comes to stylish effects, but many users won’t be able to view the site, cos by default you don’t have flash player installed.
Thanks for sharing.
What about HTML5 galleries? I think soon we’ll see them around.

This page is going into my swipefile, to be taken out when I’m running short of ideas.
Nice examples here of Flash usage. I’d use it so much more if it wasn’t for the SEO restrictions. I know deep linking is a heavy workaround, but still…
