Comments section is crucial – can make or break a page. I have been looking for a comments page for my new site with Joomla – haven’t found too much out there I love!

Some of those are great. Others are pretty ordinary though?

Man, I could have used this a couple days ago! I hate styling comments, and I just redesigned a blog I run and I’m not happy with the comment design.

Nice, what a thorough reference list…definitely bookmarking. Some things I’ve noticed on blogs that should be standard are:
1) Threading
2) Moderator/Author’s responses should stick out more
3) Gravatars should become more common
4) I think communities should get more involved with voting for larger blogs. It helps weed out spam, and sometimes the funniest or most insightful ones hit the top

Design is really matters ..good comment with great design is worth watching and following that blog becomes visitors hobby …that blog gets succcesss

Great list, I think comment styling is overlooked way too often! the tuts+ network also has beautiful comment styling. I really appreciate nicely styled threaded comments, when wordpress first supported them, it was a styling nightmare!

You know, the comments section is one of the most forgotten about sections of a blog when it comes to a design. However, it is also a very important section as far as building a community goes. Thanks for the reminder to focus on that section more, and thanks for the post of the great designs that you have found!
