Just clicked your first link as (eastpoint.org) and unfortunately the website loads a malicious javascript file (Detected: Trojan.JS.Redirector.cq http://losotrana.com/js.php)

Might I suggest an addition?

Wow. This genre has really stagnated. This looks like every list of beautiful church websites in the last 4 years.

[ x ] Grunge textures
[ x ] Tabbed menu
[ x ] Large photo
[ x ] Brown

Disappointing.

Fantastic website list! I was pretty bummed when I couldn’t find any church websites with decent effort. But, you found them and they look amazing. Where did you find them?

Colin May 20th, 2010

Agree with Jason above. Disappointing list in my opinion. I’d like to see where things are going (particularly away from a lot of texture and large images – since Google is now penalizing for those things as it eats up speed).

Wow nice.. I wish I know some designing and CSS skills..might be a good time to overhaul my church’s website :(

Nice collection. To get a real appreciation for how this genre has really advanced, you need to click into some of these to find oversized footers, modal boxes, integration of social media, and much more intuitive design, especially with the use of Flash.

Thanks a lot, a great collection of church sites and non-profit organizations. Very hard to find such.

What? Take a closer look. These are awesome! Thanks for the inspiration Vandelay. Keep ‘um comin’ .

I think Jason is right. Time to get off the grunge bandwagon. It was cool in the beginning but now…it has become too much of a staple for church websites.

Jason,
Grunge textures are definitely common. I think that is mostly because of churches that are looking to appeal to young adults. Large photos could be said of websites in just about any industry though, and there are plenty of examples that don’t use tabbed navigation.

I came here and searched google a few days ago for jewelry type inspirational websites. Nobody has a list. Hint hint.

That’s really useful

My favorite is Discovery Church. I agree that you should work on the redesign, mostly I see the same Church websites for a long time.

Scranton Web Design May 25th, 2010

Wow! I would like to know the size of the background image. Within what size parameters do you like to be?

Danny Dyson May 26th, 2010

Loved Eastpoint Community Church.

You should check out my church: generation.org

I created this one this year.

Wow!!!
Great List of Church Website Designs :)

Very nice and useful website you got here too…

Zerimar3 May 28th, 2010

Vandelay, do you know if any of these are wordpress themes or templates that can be used for wordpress and such? Thanks for the list, quite impressive.

Zerimar3,
My intent was to show custom designs, so I don’t believe any of them are templates or themes that can be used.

Zerimar3 May 28th, 2010

Thanks. I figured they were all custom but wanted to double check with you as I’m interested in using a theme for a blog. Nevertheless; great collection!

Zerimar3,
Check out the church category at http://themeforest.net. They have a nice WP template for churches and I think one or two static HTML/CSS templates that are pretty good as well (and they’re low priced).

Thanks a lot, a great collection of church sites and non-profit organizations.

Jonathan June 9th, 2010

You should really check out http://www.fbchammond.com. Sleek site utilizing CSS and jQuery.

Edwin Arceo June 22nd, 2010

I love this list! Whatever those “design” guys say, these designs are beautiful!

vibram August 5th, 2010

Thanks for sharing .
I think the design is good…
but I don’t know which one suitable for me , I work for E-commerce..

John August 6th, 2010

@cam – Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about.
pec.org.au is fantastic!

Matt Haff August 10th, 2010

Thanks for the post, I’d like to offer up 12Stone.com and see what you think of it, also lifechurch.tv

How did you come up with a list of greatly designed church websites? I know I’ve tried finding some and it takes me hours just to find a few decent ones.

Matt Haff August 10th, 2010

Also… @Jason Zimdars your comment of them being “brown” isn’t true, only 5/25 of the sites listed have a brown color scheme.

Vandelay Website Design August 10th, 2010

Hi Matt,
I’m online all day and I come across new sites all the time, so when I see a good one I bookmark it. This collection of church sites probably represents several months of browsing.
