Showcase of Websites with Blurred Backgrounds
Published in GalleriesA few months ago we published a post to showcase examples of the current web design trend of using blurred photos as website backgrounds (see Design Trend: Blurred Backgrounds in Web Design). Since the time that post was published we’ve come across many more examples of this trend continuing to gain popularity. In this post you’ll find another 23 examples for your own design inspiration.
The blurred photo backgrounds continue to be especially popular with sites for mobile apps and web apps, but a variety of different types of sites are also included.

Excellent!!
I like Trainboard, just enough blur but you still get the “picture”
You’ve put together a nice showcase. It’s all about smartphones and tablets these days:)
Thanks for posting! While this is mostly a design trend, it really fits in nicely with the “flat-design” minimalism movement.
The most important thing as designers is to remember to not copy something just to be trendy. We need to make sure it fits with the character of the brand we are designing for.
SOmething nice about blurred backgrounds is when you save for web on photoshop you have the option to blur there which saves quite a bit on filesize and often gets the desired look.
