Nice post,thank you for shared..
Thanks for the mention!
Hey, why no GigantiCo, have you no taste?
What a list. The designs are crazy
More blog designs over at siteInspire…
http://siteinspire.net/showcase/category/type/blog
Most of these websites are really good. Each of them have some nice elements… but unfortunately most of them are similar to each other. That’s the worst thing in it – it’s really difficult to design unique blog.
the best ones: ecoki, blogfullbliss, ma.tt, freelenz
almost best ones: Getting Crazy on the Waltzers (good header, an author should spend some time in learning html), outlaw design blog (good idea, nice work… but there is too much of everything), popwhore (good idea, nice header, terrible footer), ayaka ito (good idea, nice header, terrible background)
I do agree with you that designing blogs is often challenging. Traditionally designers have neglected blog footers, where they keep the obligatory copyright line. Don’t you think that you can actually capture and maintain the interest of your visitors with creative footers? Anyways, thanks for the collection.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I’m glad the showcase is appreciated.
Thanks for the mention! [2]
nice overview, I’m stuggling with design of my blog, this is helpful mainly looking at the design of headers
I see stuff like this and wish that I had a faction of the skills and talent that goes into making them.
I agree with Karol, they a lot of things in common, but hey then again you can’t really create a new kind of blog because it would be rejected. You have keep the structure!
I like Popwhore
) I like the name and the design is interesting. You haven’t includede Spoon Graphics (http://www.blog.spoongraphics.co.uk/) or Creative Luggage (http://www.creativeluggage.com) here. I think they are also very creative.
Even From the Couch.
Anyway, nice collection! Very good Vandelay, you always have nice and inspiring articles
Keep up the good work
Hi Eric,
Blog.SpoonGraphics wasn’t included because the design has been around for a while and I figured all of my readers have already seen it. I tried to find blog designs that may not be as well known, but Blog.SpoonGraphics is certainly worthy – and I believe it has been featured at http://blogdesignheroes.com
The first is brazilian… \o/
Amazing list.. =)
There are some really creative works here. WOW! I really hate not having enough time to design something as amazing as these.
Nice roundup, dig the Ecoki site
very nice blog designs, thanks for the list..
This is a beautiful list
This kind of site are great source of inspiration
Thanks for the list
Getting Crazy on the Waltzers, ma.tt, Webstaze and other..are my preferite!! Really a good post!
Thanks for listing http://QN5.com (I did the design & development for the site.) Glad to see people dig it! And it looks like we’re in good company: I’m a big fan of some of the other sites you listed, too.
Very inspiring designs and a great help thanks.
A wonderful list of blog designs! I especially liked the one by Marina. Way to go!
Nice blog sites. The trouble is, they all look alike. The CMS structure makes all these blogs look similar no matter what the designer does. The whole web is starting to look like a Word Press template.
Yes, having a blog site is sooooooo much more functional than other types of sites but the tradeoff is that they all look alike.
As bad as a Flash site is in terms of functionality, at least when you land on a good one it is something different.
I was considering a blog site for myself but I’m beginning to feel that these CMS systems are not flexible enough to accommodate original layout/navigation
I was hoping that a more design-considerate CMS might pop up or that Flash might come up with a way to be more usable/functional.
Can anyone see what the next shift will be? I don’t want to be like everyone else.

Thanks for great post, nice blog designs.
Yeah, that’s good, but I haven’s seen Creative Luggage or From the couch. I think these guys are really good, and they should be included in this list. What about them?
Anyway, the rest of designs are really, really great!
Thanks, all themes are very nice
these are great designs, being a web developer, cms and media delivery systems, which cms’s do people use, wordpress or custom? this i find the most interesting as i have just got into design, and always find that most cms’s out the box cant always work well with the design
Dallas,
WordPress is by far the most popular option among the blogs featured here. If you visit http://blogdesignheroes.com you will see a different category for each CMS (see the sidebar).
