One little thing that seems to be all the rage these days especially for posters with serious subject matter is to purposefully add a uniform noise or grain to the image as a final touch. Makes it feel more gritty or something I guess.

Jean Michel Frank September 14th, 2010

I like the ones of Neville Brody and David Carson. And I like the pure typographic solutions, and those which are able to form a series, which is often necessary for music posters. To learn how-to I prefer simply to look at some posters, and wait for upcoming ideas. This is possible in many portfolio sites, as (only an example of a friend) http://www.siegweg24.de/GALLERY/poster.html.

Matt November 4th, 2010

These are awesome!

I have been doing some flyers for my band lately. They’re here: http://flickr.com/photos/thewakingpoint

Jaffer Haider November 5th, 2010

Nice collection, I really like some of the grunge ones.

While Photoshop is great for creating posters, I’ve been working on an online application that allows you to create posters and get high resolution large prints (the largest is up to 3 feet tall).

We’ve got a growing collection of backgrounds that users can choose from (you can upload your own as well). Users can add their own photos and use various text effects in any captions that they add.

Check it out at http://www.postermywall.com .I’d really like your feedback on what features are good and what’s missing, specifically for creating great custom posters.

Thanks!

Mike Gandell November 9th, 2010

Hi, this collection is well done. I like it. Is there a thing like this for program booklets? I like those topic specific collections.

Web design hull November 12th, 2010
