Very nice ones! in fact!
this proves my motto: Simple is harder!
Awesome list Steven—it’s great inspiration for anyone who’s involved with web design.
Thanks,
– Mason
This is a great list, Steven! It really inspires me and I loved looking at all of these great designs. Stumbled and Dugg. Keep up the great work.
Karim,
Simple is hard. It seems illogical, but an effective minimal design isn’t easy.
Mason and Tay,
Thanks for the feedback. I’m glad you like the gallery.
Yes simplicity is best but people get caught on that and exclude colour…
No colour does not mean no colour. If you look at the best simple designs above, they have colour.
opps the above should read
“no colour does not mean simple designs”
There’s some nice ones on this list Steven. Very cool.
Hmm…. Nice. I think u should used more colour.your design is cool.Thanks.
Great list, thank you for including CSS Globe
CRCBUS is a total (poor man’s) rip off of Kokokaka’s site. And Kokokaka came out WAAAAAAAAY before CRCBUS did. Please don’t reward pirates.

Great looking examples, Steven. Gives me some inspiration for when I redesign one of my sites.
Congrats on the del.icio.us front page as well.
Very nice, thanks!
Great research as always, Steve. Keep up the great work!
Great compilation Steve, I’ve always been a sucker for minimalist designs :>
So, this is kinda like mental masturbation. Yes, these are all pretty and interesting designs, but they’re all FOR DESIGNERS. What, pray tell, would you expect from a designer?
Show me a fortune 500 company that goes out on a limb and chooses an expressive, deep, minimalistic design.
Great list, Steven. I Dugg you.
I went to an art/design program last summer and loved their website, http://tuscanclassicalacademy.org/. Certainly agree with scott.
blah blah blah. typography, big deal.
I like most of them, but not all. Simple is fine, but sometimes they just had way too much font graphics for me. Check out my site.
Alen,
Thanks for stopping by. You’re welcome for the inclusion of CSS Globe.
Jermayn and alien,
I agree, color is important. I think there are a few rare designs that look great without color, but they’re in the minority.
Andrei,
Thanks for providing that link. I hadn’t seen that before, definitely a very similar design.
Jason,
Thanks!
Scott,
They’re not all for designers, although very many are. I agree with you that large companies are not going to go with this type of design, but that doesn’t mean that no one else should.
Matthew,
Thanks for the Digg.

Nice list! I have LOVED FreshCreative since I first laid my eyes upon it.
I was about to begin constructing my website when your first post on minimalistic designs came out. It was such great inspiration, that I completely scrapped my original plan and started over again! I do believe the result will be a much better product.
I was inpired by this when making my site.Nice thing.
This is a very cool thing.Carry on.
I love the ‘fresh creative’ text on the Finch site. Anyone know the name of a similar font? Less is more as they say, great work.
Wicked list. Good to see these clean designs…
Nice screens guys. Inspiring bunch of designs…
CRCBUS is not came out after Kokokaka. Please don’t accuse a website if u don’t know a pubblication date.

Intresting content, not very good use of colors though…
agreed, aside from monoroot those colors are not very flashy. I do like the simplicity of most of the sites. Less is more on most occasions.
Thanks for the collection of those beautiful minimalistic designs! They inspired me a lot when we re-designed our website… they gave me guts to embrace the beauty of simplicity!

Why are all these “top xxxx” sites always web design agencies or web designer portfolios!? Surely this is not what inspires other designers but instead real designs in other industries other than design! This is what kind of inspiration we need help with not on our portfolios!!
Manisha,
Yes, there are a lot of portfolio sites in this list. Portfolio sites are much more likely than other types of sites to use a minimal style of design.
That’s really cool list. I’ll use it as soon as posible!!!
