There are some very well designed sites out there. I hope my site(when done) can be on a list like this.
October 22nd, 2007 at 9:23 pm
TyCat,
Thanks for your response. Let me know when your site is done, I’d like to see it.
October 22nd, 2007 at 10:29 pm
That is a great collection… I like simple designs as well. Simple and clean are great attention getters when you want to highlight something it is easy when everything else is clean. Scott

Minimalistic designs are the way. It has great benefits, the illusion automatically transforms content into an elegant masterpiece. “Daily Blog Tips” also have a very clean cut design.
October 23rd, 2007 at 1:58 am
nice selection
October 23rd, 2007 at 2:37 am
Excellent collection. I love minimalist sites. Nothing must get in the way of the content which is why people are there. I have tried to keep my blog as minimal as possible as it’s the writing content I want people to see.
I hasten to add I am no designer, so it doesn’t work in IE, lol.
October 23rd, 2007 at 2:42 am
minimalistic doesnt mean white. I woud have liked to have seen more colour out of 25 designs
October 23rd, 2007 at 2:45 am
I love minimalistic designs. Thanks for sharing all of these Steven, I enjoyed looking through your selection.
October 23rd, 2007 at 3:28 am
I’ve been experimenting in minimalism with my small site. It gives a tremendous sense of release and freedom, and lets you focus on the power of words. Of course imagery and color have power too, but words are themselves minimalist representations of often complex concepts.
October 23rd, 2007 at 4:01 am
I’d have to agree that most of these designs do excel in the minimalistic department; good compilation!
October 23rd, 2007 at 4:09 am
Nice list Steven! I especially like SEO Design Studio and Ben Hulse Design. How come VandelayDesign is not the list?
October 23rd, 2007 at 4:19 am
I looked at a bunch of them and I must admit I didn’t like a single one.
October 23rd, 2007 at 4:50 am
You forgot http://leenutter.com/
October 23rd, 2007 at 4:52 am
I think http://rndware.info is beautiful and minimalistic too
October 23rd, 2007 at 6:37 am
Minimalistic always is good in terms of site loads speed but I find that it is hard for minimalistic themes to fit in any colourful banners. I am not sure about others but I am facing the problem.
Anyway, the list of sites are applying minimalistic well and they certainly looked good.
October 23rd, 2007 at 7:08 am
Hi, look at http://www.sonnenstaub.com - these are some friends of mine - minimalistic and beauty is their passion…
October 23rd, 2007 at 7:29 am

primitive design IS creative art without any pictures. try that.
October 24th, 2007 at 2:39 pm
Great design examples … we’re in the process of re-launching our new website and in the mean time, we decided to use a minimalistic design for our front page. It’s funny, never thought we would receive so much praise for a static front page. But goes to show you, simple is better.
October 24th, 2007 at 2:53 pm
Some nice designs there. Most pretty well known but nice never the less. I really like the Rainfall Daffinson design.
October 24th, 2007 at 3:56 pm
I’d vote for http://www.tripntale.com
October 24th, 2007 at 5:47 pm
Russ,
Sorry you didn’t like any of them. Not everyone has the same opinion on designs.
Thanks everyone for your feedback and suggestions.

Yeah Mitch Bryson is the one posting my client’s work on his site without their consent — even after they sent a formal letter requesting that their work be taken down. I advise not to use him for any work unless you want a childish 21 yr old involved in your project.
October 26th, 2007 at 8:13 am
Daniel Scrivner’s site is the most beautiful website out of all these. Its simple and clean.
October 26th, 2007 at 2:52 pm

No problem, I really like your design. Thanks for stopping by.

I like the form and function seamlessly integrated with the airy use of white space and solid definition that many of these sites emulate. I am an artist first and one who creates SEO web design second, but I truly appreciate minimalist web design such as this. It truly is inspiring.

The John Merrells layout is possibly my favourite in this list. But the rest weren’t that bad though, I still thought they were effective at being minimalistic.

I love simplistic yet effective designs… too many people try to complicate things when it comes to design. Complex designs usually mean more to take your visitor’s attention span off of the verbiage or message you are trying to get across to them.
