Nice collection of great links. You know, no matter how often those types of “collection of icon links” blog entries come around, there’s always at least one new thing to discover.

Icons are in .ico format. How are we able to use them for our webs? (I don’t understand this)! Are we supposed to do a conversion to .png/gif or is there another way to use them.

Which icons are you trying to use? Most of them are in .png format. I clicked through to several and didn’t find any that said they are in .ico format.

Actually I’ve seen sites offering icons in .ico format. Other than being my site’s favicon, I’m wondering how can they be used.

Great list of free icons. I can not stress how important it is have some icons on your site. They look great!

Thnx for the source. Pics from icons softwares are also good sometimes since i use such services. First google the pic and then shrink it by using such softwares or services. Maybe in future you can add such services to this valuable source list … thnx again.

They include icons from 12×12 to 256×256 pixel sizes and are free for commercial use.

All are useful. Thanks for the sharing. But when I use the stuff it can be Copyright ?

You can use the icons but the copyright will remain with the creator.

The icons are not ours, so you’ll have to click on the links in the post to see the terms from each designer. I think some of them require credit (a link) and some do not.
