It's not always the easiest to get indexed how you'd like, but it can hit enough enough to make it worth it. Blogs, like websites, will ussually only generate lots of traffic when they have a truely unique idea. Blogs like my garden blog http://mowersgarden.blogspot.com/ will never generate massive traffic and the best way to keep your content original is just be true to what you want to do with your blog. Why do you write it? I write mine to entertain myself. Blogs written by people with insider knowledge of hollywood may get lots of traffic becuase lots of people are interested and only a few people can do it well. A few blogs like post secret are just such a unique idea that people will come over and over. Most blogs will be small personal projects. Now if you don't know and don't have the time to do so, than go to Yahoo answers and answer some questions. You will get a lot of data.
