I see Google Analytics as a necessary evil and I still debate the value of Adsense on a blog such as Reality Me (although apparent it protects - Can someone help me find that citation? I have to wonder about BlogRush. While it certainly has gotten a lot of attention in the last week, I am not convinced that it will help people actually promote their blogs unless they already get 1000’s of pages views a day. Not to mention it seems to have it problems already with spam blogs and people cheating the system. People might be better off doing the other items you mention in link building than using BlogRush, but I guess time will tell.

Yes, you can submit the same articles to multiple sites (unless they state otherwise), but due to duplicate content you’ll get more out of it if you submit different articles. Of course that takes more time.

Here is how it works:
1. Sign up for Blogdemic. Add some html to your blog page.
2. Your blog displays other blogs banner and sends clicks to other blogs.
3. Other blogs displays your banner and sends clicks to your blog.
4. Blogdemic retrieves your RSS feed several times an hour and creates your banner advertisements automatically.

Thanks for the links….Everything you say is great advice, some of which I’ve done already and others that I will do later. The only thing I’ve experienced to not always work well is emailing fellow bloggers or readers who comment. I have done this before and many times, which usually gets me no response whatsoever. But at least I try.

#6 seems a bit low if you ask me. I mean using a second blog to link back to yourself seems unethical and cheating in a way. Just how I see it. However, I agree that social networks do help drive a good amount of traffic for free. I actually found stumbleupon and youtube to give back a lot of traffic.

I guess I don’t see it the same way as you (and that’s fine). There are a lot of blog networks out there that all link to each other, and many bloggers have more than one project. I think if the links are relevant than it’s ok. If I’m a regular reader of a particular blogger I would like to know if he or she has other blogs, so why not provide a link?

I have just started commenting on dot follow blogs. I would like to know if it is worth the time as well as how many commonsense do I need to do any good for my site?

Nice list, thanks for sharing.
“Good content” + “connections” is the key in my experience.
You need the content to keep people coming back but you definately need connections for the first launch.
It’s not easy anymore to get to the first page on Digg. And as it gets popular “lighter” stories start to dominate.
So digg like sites with niches become the next destination

BizHeat.com for Business news
Y Combinator for Tech news
