  • Miguel, November 17, 2010

Do you know that there is life out of USA.

The post would be “30+ Outstanding Websites of Higher Education Institutions from USA”

    However great list.

    • Vandelay Website Design, November 18, 2010

      Miguel,
As other people have already mentioned, there are some from Australia and UK. Most of them are from the US, but if you’d like to put together a list of those from other countries I would be happy to see it.

  • Seo Guys, November 17, 2010

A few common themes…colourful, high quality images representing the campus diversity and simple looking sites.

  • Matteo, November 17, 2010

Miguel, Youthworks College website is from Australia

  • Kelly, November 18, 2010

Many of these are pretty but what was the criteria? What should designers of higher ed websites learn other than to hire a great photographer?

    • Vandelay Website Design, November 19, 2010

      Kelly,
There wasn’t really specific criteria. In general, just aesthetics. You’re right that photography is an important part, but that is the case with many different types of websites, not just education.

  • Tim, November 20, 2010

Roundscapes made the Virtual Tour for Nebraska Wesleyan. Easily the best design on this post.

  • Paul O'Mara, November 20, 2010

Nice selection of sites. The aesthetics of the designs and the use of good photography will always be a winning combo. Thanks for the post. It’s particularly interesting to see non-US schools.

  • Rick Crombie, November 21, 2010

Excellent examples of website design. As a website designer in Dayton Ohio we don’t usually see the quality of website designs represented here.

  • Vera, February 3, 2011

Good roundup. The best two school sites I’ve seen by far:

    http://www.wccnet.edu/
    http://loyola.edu/

  • Toronto Web Developer, June 10, 2011

    Amazing List, Go Canada!

  • Tim Kortsmit, September 13, 2011

Thank you for adding Southwest Minnesota State University to the list. We had to phase building out the website over quite a number of years to get it to the level it currently is. Always funny to think of where we took it from.

  • Ascot Teak, December 20, 2011

It’s so refreshing to see different sites that are not based on columns and banners.

I really appreciate your hard work, nice creativity, thanks for sharing…
